LETRS (K-5) Special Education Teachers

Description: Join GLRS for LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling), a proven approach to raising reading achievement. LETRS equips educators with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively teach the essential skills of literacy. Through an understanding of the Science of Reading, participants learn how to translate research-based practices into effective classroom instruction that supports all learners. Teachers will develop the ability to recognize early signs of literacy challenges, use diagnostic assessment to identify deficits, and select and implement evidence-based interventions to help students build strong language, reading, and spelling skills that lead to long-term academic success. All participants will receive monthly coaching to support classroom implementation of skills learned in the program.
